Ohio State Travels to No. 21 Nebraska and Iowa for a Pair of Big Ten Road Matches

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women’s soccer team hits the road for matches at No. 21 Nebraska and Iowa this weekend. The game against the conference-leading Huskers is set for 4 p.m. ET Friday while Sunday’s game against the Hawkeyes is slated for 2 p.m. ET.
OHIO STATE OF LATE
After dropping a 4-2 decision at No. 17 Penn State Thursday, the Buckeyes bounced back to pick up a 6-1 Senior Day win over Northwestern Sunday. Nichelle Prince scored the Buckeyes’ first three goals of the game for her second hat trick of the season while Alexis Degler, Kristen Niederhaus and Nicole Miyashiro each added a goal. The six-goal outburst was the first for Ohio State since a 6-0 win over Indiana on Senior Day in 2009.
PRINCE B1G FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Nichelle Prince was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second-consecutive week, the conference office announced Oct. 21. The award is the third Big Ten Freshman of the Week laurel for the Ajax, Ontario, native.
After scoring a goal in a 4-2 loss at No. 17 Penn State Oct. 17, Prince tallied a hat trick in the Buckeyes’ 6-1 win over Northwestern Oct. 20 in Columbus. The hat trick was her second of her freshman season and she becomes one of three Buckeyes with multiple hat tricks in their career. Prince leads Ohio State with 11 goals and is tied for second on the team with six assists on the season.
SENIOR CLASS SECOND IN OSU HISTORY
The 2013 senior class of Megan Fuller, Samantha Lewis, Rachel Middleman, Kristen Niederhaus and Danica Wu currently has the second-highest win total of any senior class in program history. The 2013 seniors sit behind only the 2012 class for most victories in Ohio State history. A look at the other top classes:

Nebraska is 12-3-1 on the season and leads the Big Ten with a 7-1-0 record in conference play. Jordan Jackson and Jaycie Johnson are tied for the team lead with seven goals while Emma Stevens has made 61 saves and tallied a 1.04 goals-against average.
Ohio State holds a 2-1-0 lead in the all-time series with Nebraska after winning both matchups last season, including a a 1-0 victory in the Big Ten Tournament.
Iowa is 11-4-1 overall, 3-4-1 in Big Ten play. Four Hawkeyes have tallied a team-high four goals on the season while goalkeeper Hannah Clark has made 49 saves and is second in the Big Ten with a 0.91 goals-against average.
The Buckeyes lead the all-time series with Iowa, 10-5-1, after picking up a 4-1 win last season in Iowa City.
BUCKEYES IN THE BIG TEN
Ohio State ranks near the top of the Big Ten in several categories including goals-against average (2nd, 0.89), shutouts (t-5th, 5), corner kicks (t-3rd, 99) and goals allowed (t-2nd, 15).
Nichelle Prince ranks third in the conference with 11 goals, tied for third with 27 points and leads the Big Ten with five game-winners. Danica Wu is tied for fourth with seven assists while Ellyn Gruber and Michela Paradiso are tied for eighth with six helpers. Jillian McVicker ranks third with a 0.95 goals-against average.
MULTIPLE BUCKEYES MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS
Fifteen Buckeyes have tallied a point so far this season, including 10 different goal scorers. Eight players have notched their first points in a Buckeye uniform.
FULLER CONTINUES STREAK
Senior defender and co-captain Megan Fuller has been a stalwart on the back line for the Buckeyes over her career. The Bondurant, Iowa, native has not missed a minute of game time since the final game of the 2011 campaign in the Sweet 16 at Duke.
WHAT DO THE COACHES THINK?
Ohio State was picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten preseason coaches’ poll, the conference office announced Aug. 14. Senior Megan Fuller and freshmen Lindsay Agnew and Nichelle Prince were named the Buckeyes’ players to watch.
THE COACHING STAFF
Ohio State is under the direction of 17th-year head coach Lori Walker. She has guided the team to eight NCAA Tournament berths (2002-03-04-07-09-10-11-12), a Big Ten regular season championship (2010) and three Big Ten Tournament championships (2002, 2004, 2012). Her record at Ohio State is 195-128-31 and her career record, including two seasons at Kansas, is 208-151-32.

- The Buckeyes went 9-2-0 at home in 2009, 9-2-2 in 2010, 7-4 in 2011 and 9-1-1 in 2012.
