COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio State women's soccer team played to a scoreless tie with the Wisconsin Badgers at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium Sunday to increase its unbeaten streak to four matches. The Buckeyes (7-7-1 overall, 4-4-1 Big Ten) outshot the visitors, 18-9, and also attempted 14 corner kicks to UW's five. The Badgers slip to 4-8-3 overall and 1-6-2 in the Big Ten.

"We got two shutouts this weekend so I'm very pleased with our defensive presence as a team," Lori Walker, OSU head coach, said. "Nobody likes a tie. One-hundred and twenty minutes in soccer is a long time. We had some very good chances but we didn't capitalize. I don't feel that we played badly. In fact, we played hard and the statistics sheet shows it."

Both goalkeepers dominated the play of the match and also made a few sensational saves. Jen Heaney (Fr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) recorded her second-consecutive shutout with three saves. The Buckeye netminder recorded all her stops in the second half of regulation. UW's Kelly Conway made eight saves including two diving stops to preserve the tie.

"They have a good goalkeeper," Walker said. "Our team made the corner kicks very effective and created some chances but we could not finish."

The Badgers' Natalie Roedler led the visitors with three shots, all on goal, while Lisa Grubb (Fr., Portage, Mich./Portage Central) attempted three shots on goal of her own. Lindsay Eckles (Jr., Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) and Emily Thorpe (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) tallied two shots on goal.

OSU returns to action with two more home matches this weekend. No. 7 Penn State comes to Columbus for a 7 p.m. match Friday to close out the Big Ten schedule for both squads. The Buckeyes also play host to the Evansville Aces at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
