COLUMBUS, Ohio-- The Ohio State women's soccer team lost to rival Michigan, 3-1, Sunday at the UM Soccer Field in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Buckeyes have lost three-consecutive matches and have seen their record fall to 5-11 overall and 1-8 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines improved to 8-6 overall and 6-3 in the conference.

OSU started the scoring when Kiley Enmark (So., Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II) shot the ball past UM goalkeeper Suzie Grech in the 13th minute after receiving the ball from teammate Emily Thorpe (Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore). The assist for Thorpe was her second in two-consecutive matches.

After out-shooting the Buckeyes, 20-3, in the first half and trailing 1-0, the Wolverines did not let up. Their tenacity led to a goal by sophomore Amy Sullivant in the 57th minute to tie the game at one.

UM took the lead at 82:05 when senior Kacy Beitel scored an unassisted goal. Nearly three minutes later, freshman Stephanie Chavez sealed the game with her goal on an assist from Beitel.

UM spent most of its time in OSU territory as the Wolverines fired 41 shots, the second most ever allowed by a Buckeye team in a game. Amber Barnes (Sr., Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) stopped 11 of the 14 shots on goal to record a new career-high for saves in a game. She set her previous record of 10 twice in 1997 and tied it Friday against Northwestern.

OSU will conclude its Big Ten regular season campaign when it travels to State College, Pa. to battle the No. 6 Nittany Lions of Penn State.
