COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sammy Edwards, a junior on the Ohio State women’s soccer team, was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The forward scored twice in the Buckeyes’ 4-0 win at Maryland Thursday night before coming back to score the first goal and assist on another in a 4-1 victory at Purdue Sunday afternoon. Edwards, from Dublin, Ohio, is tied for second on the team with four goals in addition to a pair of assists.
Ohio State hosts Indiana at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
