After 90 minutes of physical soccer, the Ohio State Buckeyes dropped their second game of the season to Michigan 2-1.

The Wolverines were the first to score in the 16th minute of the game as Abby Crumpton kicked a solid shot into the net off a dual assist from Mari Hoff and Emily Schmitt. Ohio State struck a combination of shots that were high and wide of the goal in the first half. Lindsay Eckles (Fr., Hilliard, Ohio) scored her sixth goal of the season as the ball slipped past Michigan goalkeeper Carissa Stewart.

"We fought a hard game tonight," head coach Lori Walker said. "We need to be more potent in our attack to win against other Big Ten teams. We have to continue to be more mobile and dynamic up top."

Crumpton would score her fourth goal of the season and second of the game against OSU goalkeeper Amber Barnes (Jr., Fairfield, Ohio).

The Buckeyes hold a record of 4-2-1 overall and 0-1-0 in the Big Ten. OSU travels to Michigan for its next game, as they face Detroit Mercy, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.
