COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women's soccer team will try to set the national women's soccer attendance record during its match vs. Penn State at 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The "Break the Record" campaign aims to surpass the current national attendance mark of 6,527 set during the North Carolina at Navy contest Sept. 26, 2003. The game will be aired on CSTV at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and children under 6 are admitted free. Groups of 10 or more can purchase $2 tickets in advance by calling 1-800-GO-BUCKS or by visiting ohiostatebuckeyes.com. The match also is Ohio State Alumni Night. OSU Alumni can purchase tickets for $2 with a valid Alumni Association membership card. In addition, $2 tickets are available for all fans who show their Ohio State vs. Michigan State football ticket at the gate. The football Buckeyes and Spartans meet the following day for Ohio State's homecoming.
Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium set an OSU women's soccer attendance record of 3,006 when the Buckeyes played host to North Carolina Nov. 3, 2001.
Ohio State, which topped the Nittany Lions, 2-0, to capture the 2004 Big Ten Tournament title at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, will play host to Penn State for the third time in four meetings between the schools since 2003.
