Ohio State Opens Big Ten Play at Indiana, Purdue This Weekend
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women’s soccer team enters Big Ten play with a match at Indiana at 7 p.m. Friday and a contest at Purdue at 3 p.m. Sunday. The match against the Boilermakers will be televised live on BTN.

OHIO STATE OF LATE
Ohio State picked up a pair of victories last weekend, defeating Dayton, 4-2, Friday evening before earning a 3-0 win over George Mason Sunday afternoon. Sammy Edwards notched a hat trick in the Friday victory while Taylor Schissler scored a pair of goals Sunday.
SOME MORE NOTES
- Junior Michela Paradiso sits tied for 11th in Ohio State history with 15 assists.
- Edwards’ hat trick against Dayton marked the 13th in Ohio State history and first since Nichelle Prince scored three times in a 6-1 win over Northwestern Oct. 20 of last season.
- Sophomore Nichelle Prince already sits 15th on the Ohio State career goals list after tallying 13 as a freshman last season.
- Prince has notched two of the 12 hat tricks in Ohio State history, accomplishing the feat against Northeastern and Northwestern last year.
SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS
Indiana is 4-2-0 on the year after defeating George Mason and Dayton last weekend. Jessie Bujouves leads the Hoosiers with four goals while Sarah Stone has posted a 1.33 goals-against average in five starts.
The Buckeyes are 11-11-2 all-time against Indiana after winning the last three contests against the Hoosiers.
SCOUTING THE BOILERMAKERS
Purdue is 4-1-1- on the year after defeating Marshall and playing to a 1-1 draw at Youngstown State last weekend. Maddy Williams leads the Boilermakers offensively with three goals and three assists while three goalkeepers have combined to tally a 0.64 goals-against average.
Ohio State has a narrow 11-10-1 lead in the all-time series against the Boilermakers.
WALKER CLOSING IN ON 200 AT OHIO STATE
Ohio State head coach Lori Walker picked up her 199th win at Ohio State, 212th overall, last Sunday against George Mason. The two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year has an opportunity to earn her 200th win at Ohio State this weekend.
Gruber, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, enters the 2014 season after playing in 63 career matches, starting 45. Also a team captain in 2013, Gruber tallied three goals and tied for the team lead with seven assists last season as a junior. Gruber, who has notched four goals and 12 assists in her career, is a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten pick.

The Buckeyes’ schedule includes nine matches at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium this season with Big Ten action kicking off Sept. 26 against Illinois. Admission is free to all Ohio State women’s soccer home games.
BUCKEYES ON BTN
Ohio State will be on BTN at least twice in 2014. The Buckeyes take on Purdue at 3 p.m. Sept. 14 in West Lafayette, Ind., and Michigan State at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in East Lansing on BTN. In addition, the semifinals and championship of the Big Ten tournament also will be televised on the network.

Ohio State is under the direction of 18th-year head coach Lori Walker. She has guided the team to nine NCAA Tournament berths (2002-03-04-07-09-10-11-12-13), a Big Ten regular season championship (2010) and three Big Ten Tournament championships (2002, 2004, 2012). Her record at Ohio State is 199-134-31 and her career record, including two seasons at Kansas, is 212-157-32.
