Women's Soccer Upsets No. 12 Missouri, 3-2, In Overtime

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio--The Ohio State women's soccer team defeated No.12 Missouri, 3-2, in%^$overtime Friday to win the opening game of the University of Michigan/NIKE Invitational in%^$Ann Arbor, Mich. With the victory, Ohio State improved its record to 3-2 overall and 0-0 in%^$the Big Ten as Missouri slipped to 3-2 overall and 0-0 in the Big Twelve.%^$

%^$Leading the way for the Buckeyes was team scoring leader Lindsay Eckles (So., Hilliard, Ohio%^$/Hilliard Davidson). Eckles scored all three goals, pulling the Buckeyes out of a 2-0 hole.%^$

%^$Missouri's Nikki Thole started the Tiger scoring drive with her goal off a penalty kick at%^$17:52 in the first half. Thole assisted on teammate Adriene Davis' goal at the 47:05 mark as%^$Missouri took a 2-0 halftime lead.%^$

%^$Eckles got the Buckeyes on the board at 77:15 in the second half by pushing the ball past%^$goalkeeper Graham Watson on an assist by Emily Thorpe (Jr., Sycamore, Ohio/Sycamore).%^$Eckles struck again in the 86th minute when Sarah Lanham (So., Middletown, Ohio/Middletown)%^$and Jennifer Miller (So., Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) assisted in the goal that tied the%^$game at two.%^$

%^$As the Buckeyes headed into overtime for the third time this season, Miller wasted no time%^$in feeding Eckles the ball for Eckles' third goal and the gamewinner at the 91:52 mark.%^$

%^$Ohio State will take on the Washington Huskies at noon Sunday in the final game of the%^$tournament.%^$
