COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kendyl Reed and Michela Paradiso, members of the Ohio State women’s soccer team, have garnered Big Ten weekly awards, the conference office announced Monday. Reed was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week while Paradiso was named Freshman of the Week.
Reed, a senior from Worthington, Ohio, played 162 minutes over the two contests, helping lead the Buckeye defense to shutout wins over Northeastern and No. 17 Maryland. The award is the first Big Ten weekly award of her career.
Paradiso, a freshman from Columbus, Ohio, tallied three assists on the weekend, including helpers on both of Tiffany Cameron’s game-winning goals. The award is the first of Paradiso’s career.
The Buckeyes host Syracuse at 6 p.m. Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
