COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team was picked third in the Big Ten preseason coaches’ poll, the conference office announced Tuesday. In addition, seniors Tiffany Cameron and Lauren Granberg and junior Danica Wu were named players to watch.
Penn State enters the season as the conference favorite, followed by Illinois, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Cameron led the Buckeyes with eight goals last season while Granberg added three goals as she split time at forward and on the back line. Wu garnered second-team All-Big Ten and All-Great Lakes Region honors after tallying four assists and two goals as a sophomore in 2011.
The Buckeyes look to build on their second-consecutive NCAA Sweet 16 appearance when they open the 2012 campaign at Hofstra at 7 p.m. Friday.
