COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State women's soccer head coach Lori Walker will provide color commentary for the July 23 Columbus Crew vs. Kansas City Wizards match at 7:30 p.m. on HDNet. Walker is the first female to serve as color analyst of a MLS match.

Walker previously was the women's soccer color analyst for NBC's coverage of the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. She also helped usher in the third season of Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) action in 2003 as a color correspondent for the Washington Freedom on Comcast SportsNet (Md.). It was Walker's second season working with the Freedom. During the summer of 2001, she served in the same capacity with the New York Power (WUSA) on the Madison Square Garden (MSG) network.

Walker and the Buckeyes will commence the 2005 season with exhibition action at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium against Wake Forest at 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and the Washington Freedom Aug. 17 at the University of Cincinnati. The time of the Washington match is still to be determined. Ohio State begins the regular season with four consecutive road contests, beginning with a game vs. Kent State at 4 p.m. Aug. 26.
