COLUMBUS, Ohio - SoccerBuzz.com completed its ranking of the 2007 women's collegiate soccer recruiting classes May 4 and awarded the Buckeyes high marks, most notably placing them No. 1 in the Big Ten Conference. The Scarlet and Gray also were second in the Great Lakes Region and 13th nationally.

Greg Miller, who is entering his seventh season as an OSU assistant coach in 2007 serves as the Buckeye recruiting coordinator.

"Every year we always try to bring in the best players we can and we were fortunate to be able to bring in some really talented kids and add some much needed depth to our roster," Miller said. "We were equally lucky to assemble a group who is hardworking and filled with character; two things critical for success at this level. I am convinced this class will leave quite a legacy when their time in a Buckeye uniform is complete."

The second-place standing in the region ties Ohio State's previous best from 2004, while its national ranking of 13th is second-best in program history. In 2004, the Buckeyes were ranked ninth in the country. In three seasons, the 2004 OSU recruiting class has accounted for 121 goals and 121 assists for 363 points.

Three incoming Buckeyes also rank in SoccerBuzz.com's Top recruits list in Emily Esbrook (Novi, Mich./Novi/Michigan Hawks), Courtney Jenkins (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman/Ohio Premier) and Laura Roberts (New Britain, Pa./Central Bucks West/PDA Fury).
