COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's soccer team recently concluded its 2016 spring schedule with a 4-1-1 record. The Buckeyes picked up wins over Cleveland State, Xavier, Michigan and West Virginia in the two-month spring slate.
Ohio State started its spring schedule Feb. 27, earning a 2-0 win over Cleveland State and a 4-0 win over Xavier in Columbus. After a loss to Pittsburgh March 25, the Buckeyes played to a scoreless draw at Louisville April 9. Ohio State then earned a 1-0 victory over rival Michigan on a Lindsay Agnew game-winner April 17. The Buckeyes then wrapped up their spring ledger with a 2-0 victory over 2015 NCAA quarterfinalist West Virginia April 23 behind goals from Agnew and Morgan Wolcott.
Ohio State will look to replace three seniors from the 2015 Sweet 16 squad but returns 10 starters from a year ago. Seventy-nine percent of the Buckeye goals scored return from last year along with 91 percent of the minutes played.
The Buckeyes will have a scrimmage at Pittsburgh Aug. 11 before opening the 2016 campaign at Bert L. & Iris S. Wolstein Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium against Kent State Aug. 19.
