COLUMBUS, Ohio – Tiffany Cameron, a senior on the 2012 Ohio State women’s soccer team, has signed a free agent contract with the Seattle Reign of the National Women’s Soccer League.
“When an opportunity comes along, the best thing to do is embrace it and turn it into something special,” Cameron said. “That being said, I am excited to further my soccer career and player development by taking a step forward playing for Seattle. A few years ago this was just a dream but now it is reality and I can’t wait to get started.”
Cameron, a 2012 NSCAA second team All-American and two-time first team All-Big Ten selection, leaves Ohio State as the Buckeyes' all-time leading goal scorer with 40 and tallied 96 career points, also the most in school history. She led the Buckeyes with 21 goals in 2012, shattering the previous school record of 13. Cameron’s nine game-winning goals were the most in the country and her 19 career game-winners tied for fourth-most in Big Ten history.
Cameron, who added five assists on the season to tally 47 points, also an Ohio State record, earned her first three caps with the Canadian National Team last month in China.
The eight-team NWSL is set to open play this spring.
