COLUMBUS, Ohio - After about three weeks of practice since reporting to campus Sept. 13, the Ohio State rowing team had an opportunity to practice against another team and not just themselves. The Buckeyes hosted Michigan in a scrimmage on a somewhat choppy Scioto River at Griggs Reservoir last Sunday.
It was the first of two scrimmages the Scarlet and Gray will host this fall as it will welcome Michigan State, Indiana and Notre Dame Nov. 14. The regatta will get underway at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The two teams scrimmaged in two even eights apiece, as well as a "C" eight. Additionally, the Wolverines brought a "D" eight and four to Columbus.
The Buckeyes raced a 4x2km at 22, 24 and 26 strokes per minute.
