COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State rowing team officially reported to campus Wednesday, Sept. 15th and now has begun to vigorously train for the 2011 season. Although the official spring season does not begin until March 26 - a home regatta against Michigan - the Buckeyes will get a glimpse of the Wolverines at noon this Sunday in a friendly scrimmage on the Scioto River at Griggs Reservoir.
The Scarlet and Gray also will have an opportunity to show off its new home, The Griggs Reservoir Boathouse, a facility that boasts arguably the best amenities in the country.
Ohio State will continue their fall schedule Nov. 14 when it hosts Michigan State, Indiana and Notre Dame in another exhibition regatta. The Buckeyes will host a total of five regattas this spring. The team will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., for the Big Ten Championships May 15th before concluding its season at the NCAA Championships at Gold River, Calif., May 27-29.
