Holly Norton Named to British Senior National Team
Aug. 18, 2015
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Holly Norton was named to the British Senior National Team Monday by Team GB Rowing. Norton will compete in the women’s four at the 2015 World Rowing Championships in Aiguebelette, France, beginning August 20.
Norton, a two-time All-American and two-time NCAA individual champion with the Ohio State first varsity eight, won a silver medal as the stroke seat of the Great Britain pair at last month’s Under-23 World Championships. Norton helped Team GB to a time of 7:40.40, finishing behind the gold-medal winning United States team.
Norton will be joined in the women's four by Rebecca Chin, Karen Bennett and Lucinda Gooderham. The quartet, coached by Jane Hall, have been training together with the senior squad at their European bases for the past five weeks.
A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, Norton is making her first appearance on the Team GB senior roster.
