Walsh will compete in Women's Eight at World Rowing Under 23 Championships this week

COLUMBUS, Ohio– Emily Walsh, who just completed her senior season on the Ohio State rowing team in May, was named to the U.S. Under 23 National Team US Rowing announced. Walsh, a Pittsburgh, Pa., native will row in the Women’s Eight (W8+) at the 2012 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Trakai, Lithuania. The event begins Wednesday with the finals taking place Saturday and Sunday.

Walsh, an exercise science education major, earned Second Team All-America honors this past spring. Walsh’s All-America laurels complement her CRCA First-Team All-Central Region honor, as well as her First Team All-Big Ten award. During the 2012 season, Walsh rowed in the First Varsity Eight boat that received Big Ten Boat of the Week recognition April 10. A CRCA Scholar-Athlete, Walsh also is an Academic All-Big Ten and Ohio State Scholar Athlete.
