Student-Athlete Spotlight: Holly Norton, Women's Rowing
Holly Norton, a native of Johannesburg, South Africa, is a member of Ohio State's undefeated first varsity eight, seeded second entering this weekend's NCAA championships. A three-time Big Ten champion and 2014 NCAA champion with the 1V8, Norton will look to lead the women's rowing team to a third-consecutive national title. In the classroom, Norton is an Academic All-Big Ten selection and OSU Scholar-Athlete majoring in Psychology.
Do you prefer Oval Beach in the Fall or Spring (or maybe the Winter)? Spring! I love seeing everyone hanging out on the oval and getting ready for the summer.
Where is the best place to sit for lectures? In the center of one of the middle rows.
Most underrated place to study on campus? Psychology Building
Describe your first day as a student at The Ohio State University: I had no idea where anything was or how college life in America would be, so I tried to plan everything out from before practice in the morning until after practice in the afternoon. Going to class was nerve racking and everyone stared at me when I spoke because of my accent. Thankfully, my teammates and classmates were really friendly and helpful.

Pre-game ritual: Joking around with my crew mates in the locker room and keeping the atmosphere light.

Favorite snack food: Cereal, every type there is!
Person I most admire: My mum and dad
In 10 years, I would like to: be living somewhere in Europe and have had a successful international rowing career.
If I had a million dollars, I would: invest some of it and treat my parents to an all-expenses paid vacation.
Coolest thing you did this past summer: Traveled around Spain, France and Monaco with four of my closest friends.
Most prized possession: Jimmy, my cat.

Best piece of advice you've received: Travel as much as possible!
If you could have dinner with any 3 people (alive or dead), who would they be and what/where would you eat? Nelson Mandela, Sir Steve Redgrave and Oprah. We would have a Braai (South African cookout).
