COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Current Buckeye Aina Cid I Centelles and former stars Ilse Paulis and Elodie Ravera-Scarramozzino are set to compete at the XXXI Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this August.
Cid I Centelles and Paulis secured their tickets to Rio with first-place finishes in their respective events at the 2016 Final Olympic Qualification Regatta Tuesday in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Cid I Centelles stroked the women's pair for Spain, joining teammate Anna Boada Peiro in producing a time of 7:10.16, just ahead of runner-up China. Cid I Centelles is set to rejoin the Buckeyes for her senior season in 2016-17 following the Olympic Games.
Paulis (2012), the bow in the women's lightweight double for the Netherlands, crossed the line with teammate Maaike Head in a time of 6:54.91, five seconds faster than runner-up Romania.
Ravera-Scarramozzino (2014) previously qualified for the Olympics as the stroke seat of the French double sculls at the 2015 World Rowing Championships last summer, finishing second in the `B' final and eighth overall with teammate Helene Lefebvre in a time of 6:49.69.
