Ohio State's First Varsity Eight Named B1G Boat of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State first varsity eight was named Big Ten Boat of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday after posting a 3-0 record over the weekend at the Clemson Invitational.

The 1V8 - Chloe Meyer, Aina Cid Centelles, Anna Ralph, Stephanie Williams, Ashley Bauer, Sarah K. Davis, Catherine Shields, Holly Norton and coxswain Sami Jurofsky - moved its record to 9-0 on the season and 21-0 since the start of the 2014 campaign with three victories over two days of competition.

OSU opened the regatta on Saturday morning with a time of 6:25.7 to win a seven-boat race, finishing four seconds clear of No. 4 Virginia and six seconds ahead of 12th-ranked Indiana. The Scarlet and Gray would also win a six-boat race in the evening session on Saturday, crossing the line in 6:21.8, seven seconds ahead of No. 10 Washington State.

Ohio State closed the weekend Sunday morning with a time of 6:23.5 to win a seven-boat race. OSU finished 10 seconds faster than No. 16 UCLA and 12 seconds ahead of Cornell.
