Columbus, Ohio – After a dominant win over No. 3 Michigan, No. 20 Duke and Notre Dame (RV) on the Scioto River Saturday morning, the Ohio State women’s rowing Second Varsity Four – Ashley Saba, Joan Darnell, Abby Ernst, Kendell Massier and Emma Warns (coxswain) – has been named the Big Ten Boat of the Week.
Competing at its only home regatta of the 2017 slate, the 2V4 crossed the finish line with a time of 7:22.9 to finish five seconds ahead of Michigan (7:28.5), 15 seconds ahead of Duke (7:38.1) and 20 seconds ahead of Notre Dame (7:43.7).
The 2V4 owns an unblemished record of 4-0 on the season and has beaten a total of six opponents in those four races. Through four weeks of the season, an Ohio State boat has won Boat of the Week honors in three of those (1V4, 2V8 and 2V4).
The Buckeyes will compete at the Clemson Invite this weekend in Clemson, S.C., this Saturday and Sunday.
