COLUMBUS, Ohio - Erika Benford, a coxswain for the ninth-ranked Ohio State rowing team, was recently featured in the Columbus Dispatch. In the article, Benford, a senior from Dublin, Ohio, discusses "Team Meghan," a campaign formed to assist 2009 and 2010 Buckeye synchronized swimming letterwinner Meghan Kinney in her fight against Osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.
Members of the rowing and synchronized swimming teams created the "Team Meghan" initiative and through the sales of teal "Team Meghan" wristbands, both squads, in addition to the assistance of other Buckeye teams, have raised more than $8,000 to help the Kinney family off-set the costs of treatment.
