First Varsity Eight Named B1G Boat of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State first varsity eight was named Big Ten Boat of the Week on Tuesday by the conference office after posting season-opening wins over Notre Dame and Louisville Saturday at the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual on Griggs Reservoir.
Chloe Meyer, Aina Cid Centelles, Anna Ralph, Stephanie Williams, Ashley Bauer, Sarah K. Davis, Catherine Shields, Holly Norton and coxswain Kylie Soltis defeated the Fighting Irish by 18 seconds with a winning time of 6:10.65 in the first of two races on the day.
The 1V8 made it 14 wins in a row since the start of the 2014 season in the afternoon session against Louisville with a first-place time of 6:13.35, finishing more than 15 seconds faster than the Cardinals (6:28.70).
Ohio State travels to Charlottesville, Va., April 4 to face No. 2 Virginia and Clemson.
