COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Second Varsity Four was named Big Ten Boat of the Week Tuesday by the conference office. The Buckeyes finished a perfect 5-0 – 2-0 in races – in the season-opener against No. 3 Brown, No. 6 Yale and No. 11 Princeton Saturday in Princeton, N.J.
Coxswain Jaz Fonseca-Folden, Kaylee Koker, Ashley Saba, Hannah Hites and Emily Caudle defeated boats from No. 3 Brown and No. 11 Princeton, along with the OSU Third Varsity Four, with a time of 8:06.0 in the morning session before improving their time to 7:25.2 in the afternoon session to defeat Yale.
Ohio State last won Big Ten Boat of the Week honors on April 28, 2015 after the First Varsity Eight finished unbeaten against Michigan, Michigan State and Syracuse.
Ohio State hosts Virginia and Clemson on Griggs Reservoir April 2.
