COLUMBUS, Ohio – Head coach Alexis Venechanos and her Buckeye squad will travel east this weekend for five exhibition contests in Virginia and Maryland. Ohio State will first make its way to Charlottesville on the campus of the University of Virginia to take on the host Cavaliers and Elon Saturday, Oct. 15 before traveling northeast to Annapolis, Md., Sunday, Oct. 16 to take on Vanderbilt, Syracuse and Navy at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, part of the Navy Fall Play Day.
All scrimmages are free and open to the public on both campuses.
Ohio State returns seven starters from last year’s 11-6 team, including two All-Big Ten defenders in senior Christina Turner and junior Shannon Rosati. Ohio State graduated its top two point scorers in Cian Dabrowski (49g, 19a) and Rainey Hodgson (34g, 31a), but welcome back junior Molly Wood, who was second on the team last year with 40 goals and a team-high 79 draws, and senior Paulina Constant, who started 15 of 17 games and was fifth with 15 goals in 2016.
