COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior attacker Cian Dabrowski has been named the Big Ten’s offensive player of the week in recognition of her performance last weekend in wins over Binghamton and Hofstra. The honor is the first of her Buckeye career.
Dabrowski, from Amaranth, Ontario, recorded eight goals, four assists, five draw controls and caused two turnovers as Ohio State upped its record to 9-1 on the season – matching the best start to a season in program history.
In Friday’s 10-5 win over Binghamton in Yorktown, N.Y., she recorded five points on two goals and three assists while snagging a game-high five draw controls. Then in Sunday’s 18-8 win at Hofstra, she scored a career-high six goals and added one assist in just 40 minutes of play while going a perfect 4-for-4 on free-position attempts. The six goals also gave her 100 goals in her Ohio State career, becoming the 11th Buckeye in program history to reach the 100-goal mark.
Dabrowski and the Buckeyes now shift their focus to Big Ten play, which begins at 3 p.m. ET Saturday at Michigan.
