Wood Named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior attacker Molly Wood has been named the Big Ten’s co-offensive player of the week in recognition of her performance last Friday at Duquesne. It is Wood’s first career offensive player of the week award.

Wood recorded a game-high five points, scoring two goals and dishing out three assists in the 17-5 win at Duquesne. She was equally dominant on the draw, winning eight overall to help Ohio State control possession and outshoot the Dukes 44-20 for the game. She also added one ground ball and a caused turnover.

Wood scored Ohio State’s first goal to tie the game at 27:43 and assisted on the second at 25:47 as the Buckeyes took control from that point on. She then assisted on the first and third goals of the second half as Ohio State would go on to score the last 10 goals of the game and shut out the Dukes in the final 30 minutes.

Wood, who is second on the team with 16 goals and 21 points, shared the weekly honor with Miranda Ibello from Johns Hopkins.
