COLLEGE PARK, Md. – No. 8 Ohio State lost for the first time in 55 days as No. 1 Maryland ended the Buckeyes’ nine-game winning streak, 15-5, Saturday afternoon in College Park, Md.

Despite the setback, Ohio State set program records with its win streak and 11-1 start to the season. The Buckeyes fall to 2-1 in the Big Ten and 11-2 overall while Maryland moves to 14-0 and 3-0 in the conference.

Ohio State jumped out to a 2-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Molly Wood and a FP goal by Christine Easton less than 4 minutes into the game. Two minutes later, Rainey Hodgson scored the first of two goals on the day to cut the lead to one. Maryland, however, scored three of the last four goals of the half and led 7-4 at the break.

Maryland then opened the second half with seven straight goals to put the game away. Senior Cian Dabrowski added a FP goal with 8:15 left to cap the Ohio State scoring.
