COLUMBUS, Ohio - No. 11/14 Ohio State earned a 21-14 road victory at Canisius Saturday afternoon at Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, N.Y., its second game this season with 20 or more goals.

Five Buckeyes scored three or more goals in the win, led by a game-high four from freshman Molly Wood. Senior Jennifer Porretto accounted for a career-high 10 points for the Scarlet and Gray, scoring three goals and assisting on seven -- also a career best and one shy of the school single-game record.

Ohio State (7-1) led 12-7 at the half behind three goals from Wood. After falling behind 2-0 to open the game on a pair of goals from Tori Quinn, OSU fought to within a goal at 7-6 with 8:51 remaining before closing the half on a 6-0 run. Six different Buckeyes found the back of the net during the stretch. Senior Jackie Cifarelli sparked the scoring run off an assist from Rainey Hodgson at the 6:51 mark.

Canisius (1-5) would strike first to open the second half but did not get any closer after two consecutive goals by Mary Kate Facchina pushed the lead to 14-8. Ohio State led by as many as 10 goals before the Golden Griffins closed the contest on a 4-1 scoring run in the final minutes.

For the game, Ohio State outshot Canisius 27-22. Senior Tori DeScenza(7-1) recorded four saves in goal in the win. Bridget Vilbig assisted on the defensive end with three caused turnovers.

Kelsea Ayers chipped in with three goals, as did Katie Chase (3g, 1a, 5dc) and Facchina (3g, 1a). Hodgson finsihed with two goals and two assists.

The Buckeyes continue their road swing with a game at Cincinnati March 18 at 3 p.m. ET.
