COLUMBUS, Ohio — After a spectacular weekend where she doubled her career goal total, Liz Schepers has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Co-Offensive Player of the Week, powered by GoodWood Hockey, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
Schepers played the role of hero in Friday’s 2-1 win at Mercyhurst, scoring the first game winning goal of her career with just 1:09 left in the game. She went on to add another goal and an assist in Saturday’s game.
The rookie from Mound, Minnesota now has four goals and five assists in her young Ohio State career. Her four goals come in at fifth on the team, and her nine total points rank eighth on the squad.
The No. 6/7 Buckeyes are off until the start of 2018 when they welcome Penn State to Columbus. Puck drop for that series opener is set for 6:07 p.m. on Friday January 5.
