COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s hockey team comes in at No. 6 in the latest USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll and No. 7 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey Poll; the highest rankings in the 14-year history of the program.
The highest ranking for the team was previously eighth, last on Feb. 5, 2002 when the Buckeyes were at No. 8 in both polls.
The Buckeyes are up four spots in the USCHO poll and three in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll from last week after a split with then No. 6 North Dakota this past weekend at the OSU Ice Rink. Ohio State started the season with five-consecutive wins, three of which were against ranked opponents, for the first time in program history and are now 5-1-0 on the season.
The sixth/seventh-ranked Buckeyes travel to Minneapolis, Minn., to take on No. 1 Minnesota at Ridder Arena, Oct. 19-20. Game times are set for 8:07 p.m. ET on Friday and 2:07 p.m. ET Saturday.
