No. 10 Ohio State Edged by No. 2 Wisconsin, 3-2

COLUMBUS, Ohio - No. 10 Ohio State was edged by the second-ranked Wisconsin Badgers 3-2 Sunday afternoon at LaBahn Arena in Madison, Wis.

Redshirt senior Chelsea Knapp stopped 27 shots for Ohio State in the loss and senior Alex Rigsby made 25 saves for Wisconsin. The Buckeyes were outshot 30-27 in the game and were 0-4 on the power play while Wisconsin was held to 0-5.

For the second straight day the Buckeyes carried a 1-0 lead into the first intermission following a goal from freshman Claudia Kepler. The second goal of the series and career for Kepler, who is a product of Verona, Wis., came with just 17 seconds remaining in the period and was assisted on by senior Ally Tarr.

Wisconsin answered in the second stanza, getting two goals from Blayre Turnbull to take a 2-1 advantage after two periods of play.

Junior defenseman Kari Schmitt knotted the game at 2-all 5:40 into the third with her team-leading fourth of the season. Junior Danielle Gagne was credited with the assist on the score.

At the 11:21 mark of the final period, Brittany Ammerman scored the game-winner for the Badgers.

The Buckeyes fall to 3-3-1 on the season and are now 2-3-1 in the WCHA.

Ohio State starts a two week home stand next weekend as they play host to Bemidji State at the OSU Ice Rink Nov. 8-9.
