No. 10 Buckeyes Fall to No. 2 Badgers, 4-1

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The tenth-ranked Ohio State women’s hockey team fell to No. 2 Wisconsin, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at LaBahn Arena in Madison. Ohio State (3-2-1, 2-2-1 WCHA) and Wisconsin (7-2-0, 5-2-0 WCHA) will play the series finale Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
The Buckeyes got on the board right out of the gate as freshman Claudia Kepler, a Wisconsin native, found the back of the net for her first career score 28 seconds into the opening period with an assist from senior Ally Tarr.
It was the Badgers who got an early score in period two as Blayre Turnbull scored on the power play just 30 seconds in to tie the game at 1-all. Sydney McKibbon added another power play goal at 8:28 of the second to give Wisconsin a 2-1 advantage.
Wisconsin tacked on two more scores in the third period with goals from Madison Packer and Brittany Ammerman.
Wisconsin finished 2-4 on the power play attack while Ohio State went 0-3. Shots on goal in the game were 41-25 in favor of the Badgers. Redshirt senior goaltender Chelsea Knapp made 37 saves for the Buckeyes while Alex Rigsby finished with 24 for Wisconsin.
