Suited up for 35 games during 2013-14 campaign... finished tied for third on the squad with 23 points... tallied nine goals and 14 assists... earned All-WCHA Second Team honors... tied for team-high five power play goals scored... tied for team lead in game-winning scores (Penn State, Jan. 4; North Dakota, Feb. 21; Minnesota Duluth, March 1)... started the season with a four-game point streak from Oct. 5-18... had a three-game point streak from Nov. 3-15... had five multi-point performances... recorded four points in two different series (St. Cloud State, Oct. 11-12; Penn State, Jan. 3-4)... fired 105 shots on goal... credited with a team-high 71 blocked shots... fifth overall in the WCHA for defenseman scoring.
2012-13 (Sophomore Season)
Played in all 37 games in her second season as a Buckeye... finished third on the team in scoring with 28 points... found the back of the net five times and tallied a team-leading 23 assists... had eight multiple point games, tied for most on the team... had five multiple assist games... finished fifth in the WCHA, 11th in the nation, in defensemen scoring... finished with a +4 rating for the season... credited with 59 blocked shots... had two goals while on the power play and was second on the team with 14 power play points... scored at least one point in 20 games... following sophomore season she was sitting 10th on all-time list for defensemen scoring at Ohio State with 34 career points.
2011-12 (Freshman Season) Saw action in 25 games as a freshman ... recorded a +4 on-ice rating in just the second game of her career against Bemidji State (Oct. 8) ... Scored her first goal as a Buckeye against North Dakota on January 27th, 2012 ... also tallied her first assist the next night against North Dakota (Jan. 28) ... Finished the season with 2 goals, 4 assists, 6 points, 25 shots and a +/- rating of -2 ... she also had 43 blocked shots.

Played defenseman for Belle Tire Hockey from 2008-2011 ... captained 16U team that was the 2009 state champions and USA National Quarterfinalist ... also captain of 19U squad ... played and was captain of Little Caesars 14U team that was 2008 state champion and USA National Silver Medalist ... a 2007, 2009 and 2010 USA Development Camp Selection ... 2006-2008 MWHL Academic All-Star ... finished career with 184 points (74g, 110a) playing for Belle Tire ... four-year letterwinner in swimming for Canton High School ... four-time state qualifier and was a part of the division championship teams as a sophomore, junior and senior ... an all-state swimmer as a freshman ... three-year letterwinner in basketball and was named all-conference, all-metro, all-west and all-state as a junior and senior ... led team to a two-time final four appearance in the state tournament.
Daughter of Ralph and Gail Schmitt ... has a twin sister, Sara, who also plays hockey for Ohio State ... three older siblings, Kirsten, Derek and Allison ... sister Allison was an eight-time NCAA champion swimmer at the University of Georgia and also won the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing as a member of the 4x200 free relay ... sister Allison won 5 medals at 2012 Olympic Games in London incuding 3 golds, a silver and a bronze...brother Derek swam at Ohio University ... hobbies include scrapbooking, baking and playing board games ... member of the National Honors Society.
