COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's gymnastics team concluded its 2012 season Friday with a team banquet honoring several gymnasts with awards after a season in which the team finished in the Top 10 nationally and reached the program’s first NCAA Championship since 1990.
First team All-Big Ten selection Sarah Miller won the 'O'Chievement Award, given to the team's most valuable gymnast, while Casey Williamson received the Coaches’ Award. Nicole Krauter was chosen as Most Inspirational, Taylor Jones was named Most Dedicated and Sarah Grady was named the team’s Most Improved Gymnast.
In addition, Impact Awards were given to each gymnast who competed on an event in every meet throughout the season and averaged over a 9.7. On vault, Impact Award recipients were Jones, Aly Marohn, Miller and Colleen Dean while Jones, Williamson and Alex DeLuca received the award on uneven bars. Miller was the Impact Award winner on balance beam and DeLuca was the recipient of the award on floor exercise.
