Taylor Harrison is JO National Champion

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three members of the Ohio State women’s gymnastics team’s newest recruiting class competed at the 2014 Women’s U.S. Junior Olympic National Championships at the Jackson Convention Complex in Jackson, Miss. Taylor Harrison, Alexis Mattern and Heather Hannon each competed in Jackson.
Harrison is the 2014 national champion after taking the all-around title with a 38.475. The Suffolk, Va., native also finished second on vault, uneven bars and balance beam. In addition, Mattern finished 10th overall after placing fourth on vault and seventh on balance beam while Hannon finished 10th on bars. Another incoming freshman, Stefanie Merkle, will compete at the Canadian National Championships later this month.
