No. 21 Ohio State Welcomes No. 24 Penn State to St. John Arena Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 21 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team welcomes No. 24 Penn State to St. John Arena at 4 p.m. Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
No. 23 Ohio State posted a season-high team score in a 197.325-195.200 defeat at No. 5 Michigan last Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Tenille Funches posted a pair of season highs, recording a 9.850 to tie for fourth on bars and a 9.800 on vault.
IN THE RANKINGS
Ohio State is one of six Big Ten teams ranked in this week’s GymInfo poll. Michigan sits tied for fourth followed by No. 8 Nebraska, No. 14 Minnesota, No. 17 Illinois, No. 21 Ohio State and No. 24 Penn State.
The Buckeyes sit 18th on balance beam, 22nd on uneven bars and 23rd on vault.
B1G PRESEASON POLL
Ohio State was picked fifth in the Big Ten Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the conference office announced Dec. 12. In addition, seniors Sarah Miller and Melanie Shaffer have been named Gymnasts to Watch in the conference.
Michigan was picked first followed by Nebraska, Minnesota, Penn State and Ohio State. Illinois, Michigan State and Iowa rounded out the poll.
Ticket prices for Ohio State home women’s gymnastics meets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth. Group tickets (10 or more) are also available starting at $4 when purchased in advance. OHIO STATE SIGNS FIVE FOR 2015
Ohio State head coach Carey Fagan announced the signing of three gymnasts to National Letters of Intent during the November early signing period. Megan Feltham (Lewisburg, Pa.), Heather Hannon (Indianapolis, Ind.), Taylor Harrison (Newport News, Va.), Alexis Mattern (Harrisburg, Pa.) and Stefanie Merkle (Waterloo, Ontario) each signed NLIs with Ohio State for the 2015 season.
The Buckeyes host Minnesota at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 in a meet that will be televised live on BTN.
