EAST LANSING, Mich. – The No. 20 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team posted a 195.950 for a fifth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships Saturday at Jenison Field House.
The Buckeyes took second place in the early session as No. 18 Illinois placed first in the session with a 196.475 while Michigan State finished third at 195.450 and Iowa rounded out the field with a 193.400. Overall, the Buckeyes finished fifth at the championships behind Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota and Illinois.
The Buckeyes competed on beam in the third rotation, posting a season-best 49.150 on the event for a first-place finish in the early session. Miller and Marohn again led the Buckeyes, each recording a 9.900 to tie for the Big Ten title.
Ohio State concluded the meet on floor exercise, notching a 49.125 to finish second on the event. Miller tallied a team-best 9.900 to tie for third while Aepli and Shaffer each recorded a 9.850.
Marohn led the Buckeyes in the all-around with a 39.150.
The Buckeyes will host an NCAA Regional at 6 p.m. April 6 in St. John Arena. Participants will be decided during a selection show on NCAA.com at 3 p.m. Monday.
