No. 23 Ohio State Posts Season-Best 195.925 in Tri-Meet Against No. 14 Illinois, No. 19 Central Michigan

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 23 Ohio State women's gymnastics team posted a season-high 195.925 in a meet against No. 14 Illinois and No. 19 Central Michigan. Illinois won the meet with a 196.775 while Central Michigan finished second at 196.425.

Ohio State opened the meet on floor exercise, posting a season-best 49.200. Melanie Shaffer tallied a 9.900 to tie for second while Victoria Aepli and Alex DeLuca each notched a 9.850.

The Buckeyes moved to vault and earned a 48.825. Tenille Funches tied her career-best 9.825 while Shaffer tied her with another 9.825.

Ohio State notched a 48.800 on uneven bars in the third rotation. Funches notched a 9.800 to lead the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes moved to beam in the last rotation and posted a season-best 49.100. Sarah Miller tied her career-high 9.950 to take the event title while Shaffer posted a 9.875

The Buckeyes take on West Virginia at 3 p.m. March 2 in Morgantown, W. Va.
