No. 21 Ohio State Tallies Season-High 195.625 Against No. 24 Penn State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 21 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team posted a season-best team score in a 196.150-195.625 loss to No. 24 Penn State Saturday afternoon in St. John Arena.

Ohio State began the meet on vault, posting a season-high 49.100 to win the event. Sarah Miller led Ohio State with a season-high 9.900 to take the event title while Tenille Funches tallied a career-high 9.825 to tie for third.

The Buckeyes moved to bars in the second rotation and earned a 49.000. Victoria Aepli and Shaffer each tallied a 9.850 to tie for the event title.

In the third rotation, Ohio State earned a season-high 49.050 on balance beam. Miller led Ohio State with a 9.875 to tie for the event title while Shaffer and Maggie Dunn each posted a 9.825.

Ohio State closed the meet on floor exercise with a 48.475. Shaffer led the Buckeyes with a 9.875 while Alex DeLuca notched a 9.825.

Shaffer won the all-around with a season-high 39.350.

The Buckeyes host Minnesota at 7 p.m. Friday in St. John Arena. The meet will be televised on BTN.
