"It was a pretty good night," Ohio State head coach Carey Fagan said. "We fell just short of our goal of 196.000 but the girls are stepping up. We improved this week and we're on the road at Pittsburgh next week so we hope we can continue to improve."
Casey Williamson led Ohio State on uneven bars, tying her career-high 9.850 to take the event title and help the Buckeyes to a 48.750-46.700 win. Dean posted a season-high 9.825 to take second as Ohio State led 97.900-94.325 after two rotations.
Ohio State then took vault in the third rotation with a season-high 48.775 team score. Miller tied her season high with a 9.850 while Nicole Krauter posted a 9.800.
The Buckeyes concluded the meet on floor exercise with Williamson, Alex DeLuca and Taylor Jones opening the event with season high scores of 9.825 to take the event with a season-best 49.225 team score. Melanie Shaffer followed with a season-high 9.850 and Dean won the event with a 9.900, marking a season high and tying her career best.
Dean won the all-around with a season-high 39.300, falling just shy of her career-best 39.325.
"Any time you have an all-arounder over 39.000 it's great," Fagan added. "Colleen is an excellent leader doing a great job and we look for her to continue to build on tonight."
The Buckeyes return to action with a dual meet at Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. Jan 27.
