Corvallis, Ore. – The No. 14 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team fell at No. 9 Oregon State, 195.375-195.000, Friday night at Gill Gymnasium.
Marohn, along with Sarah Miller, again paced the Buckeyes on vault in the second rotation, recording a 9.775 as Ohio State recorded a 48.700. After a pair of rotations, the Beavers held a 98.225-97.275 lead over the Buckeyes.
Ohio State posted a 48.825 on floor exercise in the third rotation but the Beavers narrowly won the event with a 48.875. Miller and Melanie Shaffer led the Buckeyes on the event, each tallying a 9.825 to tie for third.
The Buckeyes finished the meet on balance beam, topping the Beavers, 48.900-48.275. Shaffer posted a team-best 9.825 to finish first on the event while Marohn and Miller each recorded a 9.800 to tie for second.
Shaffer posted a season-best 39.075 as the lone Buckeye in the all around.
The Buckeyes open their home slate against Iowa at 4 p.m. Jan. 19 in St. John Arena. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available on OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
