Coach Fagan on Ritter: "Lauren is coming back from an Achilles tear that occurred during her preparations for her senior season regional championships. She comes to Ohio State as a seven-time Junior Olympic Competitor and brings remarkable experience from one of the best gymnastics clubs in the country, Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. As her injury continues to heal, we will be working to get Lauren ready for competition this season."

Prior to Ohio State: Five-time Junior Olympic National qualifier ... 2009 Ohio State Uneven Bars Champion ... qualified for 2009 Regionals but fell to injury previous to the competition ... 2008 and three-time state champion in the all-around ... scored first-place finishes on vault, bars and floor at 2008 state meet ... finished seventh on bars and 11th on vault at the Junior Olympics in 2008 ... 2005 National Champion on floor ... at 2005 national meet, also placed second on beam and third overall in the all-around in the Junior B division, earning a spot the 2005 U.S. Junior National team ... trained at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy ... named squad's MVP in 2006 and Hardest Worker in 2007-08 while earning the 2009 Character Counts Award.

Personal: Daughter of Paul and Paula Ritter ... father played baseball at Northern Kentucky University ... has a younger brother, Paul ... 2009-10 OSU roommate is teammate Phoebe Hart ... plans to go to graduate school for a Master's of Business Administration ... started gymnastics at age 3 ... greatest sports thrill was making the 2005 U.S. National team "Standing on the third-place award stand at nationals, knowing that I had reached the ultimate goal I had been working for all season was the greatest feeling of accomplishment."
