Lauren Peter Signs with Buckeyes for 2018-19

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Therese Hession, head coach of the Ohio State women’s golf team, announced Wednesday the signing of Lauren Peter for the 2018-19 season.

“We are excited to add Lauren Peter to our team in 2018,” Hession said. “Lauren is extremely talented and very hard working. She has high expectations of herself and will be a fantastic addition to Buckeye Nation.”

Peter, from Carmel, N.Y., has played varsity golf at Carmel for four years, joining the team in eighth grade. The three-time Section One Player of the Year is a four-time all-league, all-section and all-state selection. The daughter of Stephen and Debiane, Peter won the New York State Public High School Athletic Association state championship in 2017 after finishing second in 2015 and 2016.

On the junior golf circuit, Peter has 12 Top 10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association events. Peter won the Lessing’s AJGA Classic in 2016, the Forsgate Country Club Junior All-Star in 2015 and the Galloping Hills Golf Course Qualifier in 2014. In 2017, she has qualified for the USGA Girls Junior and the USGA Four-Ball Qualifier.
