Buckeyes Take Fourth Diane Thomason Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Ohio State women's golf team wrapped up the first annual Diane Thomason Invitational Sunday, posting a 47-over 911 over three rounds. Ohio State carded a 17-over 305 on the final day of competition on par 72, 6,212-yard Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa.
Ohio State was led by two freshmen and a junior placing in the top 20. Freshman Jessica Porvasnik concluded the invitational with an 8-over 224 (75-73-76) after finishing the day with a 4-over 76 to place third overall. Classmate Katja Pogacar placed sixth after carding a 2-over 74 in her final round, highlighted by three birdies. The Ljubljana, Slovenia, native finished with a 10-over 226 (77-75-74).
Junior Jan Chanpalangrsi tied for 11th to round out the top 20 for the Buckeyes. The Bangkok, Thailand, product closed out the day with a 4-over 76 and finished with a 12-over 228 (75-77-76).
Freshman Illeen Domela finished with an 18-over 234 (78-77-79) and placed tied for 31st. Senior Allison Harper and junior Claudia Lim brought the tournament to a close, both tying for 47th with 21-over 237.
The Buckeyes next travel to Wilmington, N.C, Oct. 25-27, for the Landfall Tradition hosted by UNC Wilmington.
