COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Buckeye Rachel Rohanna won the Symetra Tour Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., Monday.

A native of Waynesburg, Pa., Rohanna carded a 4-under 68 Monday to finish at 13-under for the tournament, besting Yu Liu, Emma Talley and Benyapa Niphatsophon, who tied for second at 12-under. The win was Rohanna’s second-career Symetra tour victory. She’ll return to Florida for the final stage of LPGA Qualifying School in December.

“In years past I’ve always done well here, but I’ve never really quite pulled out the win,” Rohanna said. “So, it’s always good to end the season on a high note. This is definitely higher than a high note. It’s been awesome.”

Rohanna, a letterwinner for the Buckeyes from 2010-12, was named NCAA All-Central Region in 2011 and 2012, first team All-Big Ten in 2010 and 2012 and second team All-Big Ten in 2011. In her final season in 2011-12, Rohanna posted the lowest stroke average on the team at 74.34 through 38 rounds, tallying seven rounds under par and two in the 60’s.
