Ohio State Travels to Chicago for the Windy City Collegiate

COLUMBUS, Ohio-- The Ohio State women's golf team will return to the links, Sept. 30- Oct. 1, for the Windy City Collegiate in Chicago. The two-day tournament, hosted by Northwestern, will feature a 54-hole event and will be played on par 71, 6,108-yard Northmoor Country Club.
A notable field of 15 teams is scheduled to compete including three from the Big Ten Conference and seven ranked in the top 25 according to Golf World.

THE BUCKEYE LINEUP
The Buckeye lineup will feature three freshmen, one senior and one junior competing for the team score and with one individual. Senior Allison Harper will lead the Buckeyes along with junior Jan Chanpalangsri. Freshmen Jessica Porvasnik, Ileen Domela and Katja Pogacar will make their second appearance for the Buckeyes in Chicago. Junior Claudia Lim is set to compete as an individual.
LAST TIME ON THE LINKS
The Ohio State women's golf team concluded the Mary Fossum Invitational in second with four Buckeyes finishing in the top 20 after carding a 32-over 896. The Buckeyes totaled a 16-over 304 on the final day on the par 72, 6236-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.
Freshman Ileen Domela finished the final day with a 4-over 76 and came in tied for second overall with a 4-over 220 (71-73-76). Classmate Jessica Porvasnik finished tied seventh with a 7-over 223 (74-73-76).
BUCKEYES AND THE WINDY CITY
Ohio State competed in the 2012 edition of the Windy City Intercollegiate, finishing 10th with a 43-over 907 on the par 71, 6,333-yard Glen View Golf Course. Former Buckeyes Rachel Rohanna, Susana Benavides and Amy Meier led the squad in the tournament with Rohanna tying for 20th.
Weather conditions are looking great heading into next week. On Monday and Tuesday there is no chance of rain with a high of 71 degrees on Monday and a high of 74 degrees on Tuesday according to weather.com.
The Buckeyes will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, Oct. 12-13, for the Diane Thomason Invitational hosted by Big Ten opponent Iowa.
