COLUMBUS, Ohio - Senior Rachel Rohanna of the Ohio State women's golf team was named the Big Ten's Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. The honor is the first of the season for Rohanna and the second of her career.
Rohanna finished second at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational to lead Ohio State to a tie for second place. The Waynesburg, Pa., native carded a 3-under 216 to kick off the 2012-13 season, finishing with 10 birdies overall.
Rohanna opened with a 2-under 71 in the opening round, tallying five birdies in the process. She fired a 1-under 72 in round two and closed out the tournament with an even 73 in the final round.
The Buckeyes return to the links for the Windy City Collegiate in Chicago, Oct. 1-2.
