COLUMBUS, Ohio –Tournament officials announced Tuesday a new name, date and format for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship.
The Tournament will help bring in the new age of the Web.com Tour as it will host the third of four tournaments that will determine the 50 players who earn PGA TOUR playing privileges for the 2013-14 season and their eligibility position under the TOUR’s enhanced qualifying system. The new name of the Tournament recognizes that the event will no longer be played as an invitational.
The Ohio State University Golf Club – Scarlet Course will once again serve as host venue for the Tournament that will be played Sept. 9-15, 2013.
The Nationwide Children’s Hospital will remain the tournament’s charity focus. Through 2011, the event has raised more than $2.1 million in support of the pediatric cancer program.
